Every February, the Black Caucus of National Council of Teachers of English sponsors the
African American Read-in in which schools, libraries, businesses and other community organizations come together to read the works of African American writers. This year was the library’s fourth of participation, and the turnout was the best ever! Sixty-three people came to the Central Library Monday, to hear fifty readers, including twenty from the Governor’s School, between the hours of 10:00 and 5:30.

Thanks so much to everyone who worked so hard to make this event a success!

So, the children are home for a break.  Looking for something to keep them occupied?  Come to our holiday films and keep the season going!

Christmas week, we will be showing movies at 1:00 at the Central Library.  Wednesday we have Highschool Musical 2, Thursday we’re showing Spiderman 3, and we tie it all up Friday with The Santa Clause 3.  See you there!
